Microsoft has to do some soul searching right about now. Windows 8 backlash has it it's bottom line and intel's as well. The backlash on latest XBox is just another in a line of issues for Microsoft. They probably saw Steve Jobs standing up telling people "You have no idea what this is, but soon enough you'll be waiting six hours in line to buy it." I really think that they felt that since Steve Job's is gone they could carry on his model of not listening to the customer. But now that the numbers are showing that this isn't right, what should they do?
I think Microsoft should move from a model of selling software to leasing it. The first year's lease would be free with any new computer. I'm not talking about Windows 8 only, but any Microsoft OS. If you bought a new HP you should be able to come home and quickly convert it back to a Windows 7 machine if that's what you want. Then after the first free year you would have to chip in for the next year
