The quarterly report, with EPS way over expected for the quarter, should lead to a rise in share prices. The very slight shortfall in revenue is far less important, since everyone agrees that solar energy is a growing market almost anywhere in the world, so revenues will inevitably increase. The EPS increase speaks of more important things -- demand for SPWR's specific products, lowering of their costs, and other important measures. My conclusion, although I welcome other information that I may have missed, is that the share price will inevitably rise to a significantly higher level. Not sure if that is 3 days or 3 months, but I can wait.
They just almost doubled their 2013 EPS forecast and stated that they were looking to source new capacity to satisfy demand. Revenues will be going up along with EPS once they announce their increased 2013 and 2014 supply. Then with the continued cost savings of Oasis, this company will become a virtual cash generating machine for investors.
Further the growth in loan to consumer owned panels has just begun and they are at the forefront of this new world where Americans will be their own utility provider. Why pay $180/month for electricity when you can pay $150/month and then own the electricity and the panels that make it.
This is where the market is heading, especially with all the new electric cars that will be coming out and the Tesla's leading the way forward.
Hi, Mahilama1119. I am not sure about the short term (August calls). My approach in this volatile industry is to bank on the strong growth of demand globally, medium-term meaning over the next year, and picking the best companies within that growing industry. SPWR in my judgment is one of the best companies in terms of management, products, and balance sheet.
That said, I bought some shares near the low today, and am looking for for some extra bounce via that timing. No way someone can justify a 9% drop today, from what I see of all the fundamentals and the quarterly report!
