Not sure if this enters into the equation, but if you recall, the 1st 22.5% was going to be paid for from sale of the gas as PNG had no money. It may be that the $3 billion is the amount to be paid for the add'l 27.5%. That would equate to $1.36/mcf !! [ based on 4tcf ]
I believe that is more correct Ed. Probably need more clarification but Liam Fox probably got his information straight from the PNG govt and his sources there. 3 billion is a PNG govt number in my estimation. So, is that a starting point or a firm number?
