The results were the typical MOS disappointment and the forecast was bad to poor. I am not very good at happy talk. The stock is down almost 4%. This is not happening because people are happy. Instead they are getting out. Only those with incredible patience can put up with one #$%$ quarter after another. I think the last good quarter the company had was in 2008 when it reported that earnings had more than quintupled. Of course the stock dropped over 40% on that day. Can't win 'em all.
I disagree. The analysts were predicting another earnings miss even as they continued to lower expectations and MOS did indeed miss the lower earnings expectations by a penny. I doubt whether the market is likely to reward this kind of performance. You may be happy with the results but I am not. It wasn't a bad quarter, just not a good one.
I am with you and would very much like to hear news like that. However, I believe they will probably just starch it out and continue to let the pile grow until they commence the buyback after November assuming they can work out a satisfactory price.
