Just some thoughts i have. Nortel announced that it will be pulling out of dsl business.

antec's major part of its business is dsl.

could this mean that nortel may not complete the arris arragement?

does this mean that the dsl business is not as profitable and more companies will get out?

please let me know your thoughts on the above.

    thank you

a long time investor in antec.

    • DSL is a RBOC technology for high speed modem. ANTEC and Arris are developing Cable Modem technology via the Cable companies like AT&T, AOL Time Warner, etc. Nortel getting out of DSL says that Cable technology is winning and that is why the merger of ANTEC and Arris will go through. Nortel has to unlock the value of its investment in Arris with ANTEC and that's best done by spinning it out instead of pulling it back in.

      • Antec Fan AHOpe you dont use Company and Fan ie KOpin FAN as your ids?? But anyway BSL is dead for the consumer I agree but the Business DSL is still a big need indeed. I dont know many compnaies running COAX cable throughout thier Buildings do you? SO Business DSL is just that for the Business person. Which to me is stiall alot of DSL!
