Why increase the current offer price?
Mike Dell and his LBO team can walk away and submit another offer later this year, or next year, for a lower price.
Disgruntled current stockholders, who paid too much for their Dell stock, are not the responsibility Mike Dell or his LBO team members.
Yea youre right, but shareholders can just attempt to reject the next bid. More legal actions, more money spent blah blah blah more time wasted. In the end, maybe it would be cheaper to raise the bid now then have to go through more processes and more actions.
I guess you do not understand how much money that Dell and his "group" will make given the high multiples Michael Dell and his buyout partners could return in the proposed deal. That is why they want this deal to go through AND can afford to raise offer.
