Is Tuesday Morning on the Acquisition Block?

Jack Kleinhenz, chief economist for the Nrf, recently said, "There is a lot of competition in retail, and they have very thin margins. There's going to be a sorting among retailers." Rumors around that sorting process may have already started, and this may be what's fueling Tuesday Morning

    • I saw this article too... absolutely nothing in it. Tues isn't an acquisition target now but could be in anther year or so. I think any entity looking to take it private would need to see the operations changes the company is making fully integrated and the impact to the top and bottom lines follow through. I don't see Tues posting a positive yearly EPS until 2015. The run up in the stock price is the expectation for their first positive EPS this quarter which they will see and that will be the evidence for the first tangible indication that Rouleu is actually doing something right. I think they'll see .35 to .40 this Q.

      Sentiment: Buy

      • .35 to .40 this Q isn't evidence of anything. They earned .37 last year.

If they don't do much better, the stocks going lower.

The buyout talk is interesting just because I didn't think it had anything to do with the stocks rise and it WOULD explain its strength.

DG could have the ego to think they could improve & expand it. And maybe some everyday consumables in TUES stores might drive traffic.

        Just speculating.

    • How about DG ? It has a $19.5 billion marketcap. They could pay $18 without burping.
