I personally checked Amazon and Target to verify the tweets I received re. selling out.
OUYA controller, sold separately, is also sold out.
This little gadget is gonna do wonders for Android gaming ecosystem - and $$$ for NVIDIA. Expect regular upgrades of hardware with Tegra line of products for the foreseeable future.
"OUYA console released today...SOLD OUT online within minutes, hours"
Ouya has disappeared from the Game cnsole discussion and from Amazon's Best Seller List and EVERY OTHER LIST.
After PS4 and Xbox One SOLD OVER ONE MILLION UNITS EACH Within 24 hrs of Launch
there can be no doubt that Ouya IS and ALWAYS WAS a POS with no future just like SHIELD.

Ok, now fast forward one month or so later and what happen?
Ouya is IN STOCK and DROPPED from Amazon's Best Seller List right?
A Nintendo Wall Charger is on Amazon's Best Sellers List as are Pre-Orders for BOTH PS4 and Xbox One
but NOT Ouya and you know why right?
So knowing what you know now Nvidia fans,
what does it mean if a low volume product like Ouya is out of stock on day one?
NOTHING, it was just some Nvidia fans getting all excited about absolutely NOTHING. lmao
Some one is TRYING the same BS SCAM with SHIELD he tried with Ouya.
He tried to convince this board that Ouya was a best seller on Amazon.
Well Is Ouya on Amazon's Best Sellers List a little over a month after launch or is it GONE.
Is he PUMPING Ouya here now or did he dump Ouya when Amazon's Best Sellers List dumped Ouya? lolh
Mad Catz Project M.O.J.O. is another cheap android console on the way which will have tegra (not sure if 3 or 4 yet, though would guess tegra 4 as Project MOJO is still at least 6 months from release). Project MOJO will have full access to google play store and amazon app store.
memory serves me, Ouya raised about $10M. assuming $45 cost, odms will not do he credit, I'll let the readers do the calculations of how many units ouya might have on hand for the product launch and how much nvda's take might be from the launch.
words might fool a lot of readers on this board, but the final sales and bottomline will never lie.
and then there is Shield. how much did nvda bet on the launch at $200 a pop? just half a million units on hand = a bet of $100M. Yes, preorder did not look right, you'd be dropping prices pronto.
1 controller is included in the $99 price which is excellent value for an android device. I wonder how much Nvidia is getting for the 1.7 GHz Tegra 3, $10-15 ? If Nvidia have picked up a $5 soc profit for each unit they have done well as $99 android devices usually sell well. Tegra 3 just may have found its niche ;-).
From WSJ, just in:
....Ouya said its console sold out within the first eight minutes of being available on Amazon site in the U.K., and within eight hours of the midnight launch in the U.S. version of the site
Another potential run-away seller is the HP Slate21 - there is nothing like it on the market for family shared entertainment and basic productivity. $399 is an incredible price.
There is a somewhat comparable product (in size and market segment intended, at least) recently released by DELL: the XPS 18. (Intel Core i5 and HD 4000).
Selling for $899 to $1350 depending on specs.
Granted that the Dell entry would do more in terms of productivity - a core i5 can't do much heavy lifting anyway - but graphically speaking the cheap HP 21 would perform better....and better suited for home entertainment purposes.
Mainstream press have ALL cover OUYA launch news and its instant selling-out status, including ABCNews, CBSNews, Forbes, FOxNews etc etc. Below is from CBSNews:
"According to Ouya, the console currently has more than 170 downloadable games, as well as a built-in software development kit that enables people to create and test titles right from the hardware. Several streaming apps, including Plex, XBMC and iHeartRadio are also available.
"It's incredible to think that a little under a year ago Ouya was just an idea -- we wanted to do something completely new in console gaming: build a $99 game console, with no discs to buy, open to all developers, and affordable to all gamers," Ouya CEO and co-founder Julie Uhrman said in a statement Tuesday. "Today, Ouya is real.""
