Decker didnt do his homework - why it didn't fly...

I've done some math on ducted fans vs open props, like on a quadcopter. Mr Decker would have been using 3 or 3.5 inch ducted fans for his model. These units produce about 1.5grams of thrust / watt of electrical power in. Open props can produce as much as 13gm/w, and can stay above 10 gm/w across the flying RPM range of a typical quadcopter. Decker said the model would fly for 15 min. HA!
He would have needed about 1300 watts to get off the ground, compared to about 220 watts for a quadcopter of similar weight (2.2 kg). Doing the math, based on the facts, sure does mess up their big fat lies, don't it? Why do you think there are NO serious ducted fan VTOL models out there? Now you know why.

    Sentiment: Strong Sell
