I used to be a seller on Ebay and found that their fees are just too high and decided to close up shop. Their high fees just don't allow for much profit if any at all for sellers. Little do they know that if they lower the fees more folks could actually sell more stuff, it would be a win win for both Ebay and the seller. Sellers could actually make money and ebay rakes in profits for more things being sold. However, Ebay thinks higher fees equate to bigger profits for them when the opposite is true. Higher fees equal less sellers and less stuff sold on their site. A lot of folks have been moving to other platforms so the downtrend will continue in the foreseeable future.
militaryvet, you couldn't be any more correct. eBay is an entirely Un-American company. In these times of economic despair, eBay could have been the "golden boy" but they have taken advantage of the American public to enrich themselves. It's utterly disgusting CEO John Donahoe took home a $16Mil paycheck in 2012. That's $16Mil each and every one of us Americans, Veterans and middle class paid this guy to unleash his team of flying monkeys to assault us.
Of course, John Osborne (too many ID's to list but eBay seller z50com) thinks eBay is fine. He's happy being bongered by corporate America. Says his mother-in-law is going to buy him a Harley, but he surely doesn't ride with the rest of us who feel disenfranchised by corporate America.
Only thing keeping eBay in the profits is Paypal, eBay is a Sellers Nightmare & a Buyers paradise. Mr Union or Donahue is a Hand me Out type of guy, he would rather Shut a small business down & take food out of Family mouths to please a buyer that knows how to Scam or Hack the system.
