AOL wasn't good enough after the recent run. They
did not blow everyone away. It was a good quarter,
and I think that AOL is a great company, but after
they announced, it was not trading anywhere near the
121 level which it was at before the market closed.
That, coupled with the crummy IBM news, is going to put
pressure on the market. EBAY ran up way too much today. It
deserves to give back today's gains, just like AOL did
after the earnings news.
I think that after earnings are in, the insiders
can go back to dumping shares, I'm sure Benchmark has
alot of that 15 million to unload just by themselves.
If this thing goes up on earnings I'm looking for it
tanking quickly over the next month on new shares alone
hitting the float and earnings behind them. Meg Whitman
said several times that expenses were up on their
expansion plans and that Great collections would grow
slowly like their auction site over the next few years
and that no earnings were forcasted on that. That
tells me she's hyping because were in for a surprise. I
remember the quarter when she promised to never disappoint
the investors again, is she pumping now to cushion
I read your post and absolutely believe you! I
had several bad deals on ebay and I was horrified at
how many cases of fraud and abuse there are. It's not
just one, criminal minds are flocking to EBAY.
Cybercrime is called the crime of the century and
legislaters are at a loss as to how to handle it. Several
bills are under review. When these laws hit and
consumers really understand how vunerable they are, they
will have an ugly taste in their mouth for Ebay.
Today, SEC announced stock violations for people selling
stock on EBAY and Ebay had no responsibilty but just
wait until the laws pass and they are forced to be
responsible- Ebay will pay and pay big!!!! Ebay will go down
as the scam of the century!!!
Put up or shut up hoss! Ebay is not a stock for
the faint of heart, so get off your soap box and get
in here into the trenches with the big boys.
Some of us are down here busting our butts against
this pigola. Ebay is bigger than me, but I got time on
I have to give you that. But I'm not so sure that
the bears are ready for hibernation just yet. I got
this funny feeling in my bear gut that this thing is
gonna come in a bit short with it's earnings, oops, I
