I know nothing about Herbalife. I have never seen any of their products.
Some idiot kept posting about HLF. Icahn could make a few bucks on HLF, but it would not be enough to impact his stock, IEP.
IEP owns 8 casino facilities with 7,121 slot machines, 231 table games and 6,046 hotel rooms in Nevada, Mississippi, Indiana, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Aruba. The companys Railcar segment manufactures, sells, and leases hopper and tank railcars; railcar parts and other industrial products; and provides repair and maintenance services for railcar fleets. Its Food Packaging segment produces cellulosic, fibrous, and plastic casings for the processed meat and poultry industry. The companys Metals segment collects, processes, and sells ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as processes and distributes steel pipe and plate products. Its Real Estate segment is involved in the rental of retail, office, and industrial properties; construction and sale of single-family and multi-family homes, lots in subdivisions and planned communities, and raw land for residential development; and golf and resort activities. The companys Home Fashion segment offers home fashion consumer products, including bed, bath, and basic bedding products consisting of sheets, pillowcases, bedspreads, quilts, comforters and duvet covers, featherbeds, bath and beach towels, bath accessories, bed skirts, bed pillows, flocked blankets, woven blankets and throws, and mattress pads
I usually disapprove of posts on a message board that are for companies that are not related to the message board company. However, I haven't looked at IEP for awhile. When I looked at it a few months ago, I don't remember feeling that it was an attractive investment, but now, even though it's trading above the 12 month SP estimate, the dividend is at a 5.7%. I have to research why the SP rose as a high as $90.75 on Feb. 15, to as low as $70 on the next trading day of Feb. 19, and why it continued to sink until April 18 ?
