Ironic. I was born and raised in PA, knew most of it pretty well, remember tiny stripper wells with rusty pipe running to small tank farms. I think they pumped them maybe once a week, maybe less often. How times have changed!
The Marcellus is changing things. Not only in PA but the whole energy scene. The shallow well industry in PA has been booming for years. But with the advent of the Marcellus several of these wells produce more gas than thousands of shallow field wells. It will be interesting to see how the Marcellus eventually plays out.
