    Defective B70 brewers

    Bought our first B70 brewer in the Summer of 2008. Yesterday, the 2nd replecement brewer went defective. All 3 brewers, ( the original and the 2 replacements) that have failed, have had the same problem. Water is drawn up from the supply tank , but not forced into the KCUP. Our water supply, (our own well)has been ruled out as a possible cause of the brewer failures. We have equipment that filters iron, etc: out of the water. The problem in all of the brewers, apparently, has been the pump.
    Being a member of Cafe Express, all brewers have been replaced to us at no charge, with an apology from Geeen Mountain.
    Anyone else have more than 1 brewer replaced ?

    • Mine has worked exceptionally well for quite a long time. I think you must be doing something wrong to be on your third.

    • We bought our first brewer in 2007. Between home, offices, and kid's dorm room, we have four now. The original one went bad on us a couple years ago - it stopped brewing full cups, and brews pretty slowly. It is one of the old ones that sounds like a diesel truck, so it has seen a lot of service over the years. It is still usable though - we gave it to our son's girlfriend who just hits the brew button twice.

      Recent quarterly reports stated that the warranty rate has been slower than expected, so it sounds like (on average) their QC is improving.

      • It seems to me that there is also a time for the "whiners" and "shysters" to stop calling GMCR know who you are.

        The warranty is for a year...not 3 years +....

        Can't tell you how many times I've read "got a free brewer" my old one is now working again

        Try cleaning the thing more than once a year and yes hard water does count...try installing a water softener you cheapskates.

    • My brother in-law had a problem with his brewer and the company replaced it free of charge. He later fixed the problem and now has two. He absolutely loves his it because his whole family can have whatever drink they want at anytime.
      GMCR has great customer service and it's one reason I choose to go long with them. Eventually it will pay off.
