CEO Lorenzo ran Eastern into the ground. To the point a Federal Court banned him from ever being on a Board of Directors for another airline. Read your history...he is a legend in crooks, coperate crooks.
Oh yea, there are lots of parts made overseas. That's why every major assembly we receive comes with a "Traveler Package" of imcomplete and disrepant work done by vendor. All the receiving areas in Boeing have rework shops staffed by crews to fix, repair or complete this components.
I myself don't have much of a problem with outsourcing...it makes me and other proud IAM people lots of money in overtime.
Our interiors are just about 100% supplied by vendors...interiors crews work 7 days a week around the clock. Boeing used to make most of the interior parts.
You at least have some background on Commercial Aviation phantom. I'm sorry your so anti-labor but know this...no airline folded because of unions... BAD MANAGEMENT!!!
Pan Am, TWA, Western Airlines, Branif, Eastern, the list is long...airlines are so cut throat. We the worker bees have to remain strong. If airlines can do this to one another how do you think they value the folks on the ground. Ask the pilots how they feel...
The strong will survive...the rest will of the CEO's will take there millions and go find another company to rape.
