    map service

    Since Alibaba bought out the map service, all 3 big players (BAT) has level-A position service now. Will that push QIHU to align with google map more? Who is the provider for google Chinese position data?
    Given the fact grabbing search share will be getting harder and harder, any understanding how QIHU will increase stickiness of user base in order to monetize the data flow? Heard IM or mobile but not sure how much has been done.
    I think QIHU will be hard to remain as an independent company in the BAT fight as they all cross-over business domains and QIHU is a background niche player.

    • They have market dominance in security much as Norton and Mcaffe once did here security companys develop good brand recognition and trust with their user base plus qihu has a very popular app store.

      • User base is the only real advantage so far, which generates revenue from adwords and all kinds of ads. But their security app is at the back end, unlike QQ at the front end. I discount the app store as it's just a side show and most ppl in China don't pay for the apps. Don't ask why.
        They need to do more to expand from just security to justify PPS which is richly priced now, as there are other security firms forced to be free right now while BAT are investing more into security domain.
        Without location service, mobile search is just too plain to have explosive growth (ie: O2O service), IMHO. I wish there could be Alibaba + QIHU + google alliance.
