    70 independent bottlers (?? minority)

Still digging deeper and found a few articles that said Coke has 70 independent bottlers in the United States. Can anyone tell me how many of these are minority owned (African American and Hispanic?) I'm sure Coke has no African American owned since they bought Philadelphia, but I could be wrong. I'll keep looking but any help is appreciated.

    • None in the US...plenty in Africa.....Phlly Coke was in financial ruins is why KO took them over....You have to remember - most of the independents are over 100 years old in the US. If they are not for sale, minorities can not buy them....

      • WOW, none in the US, that says a lot. And why do you mention plenty in Africa?? And since you're telling, can you name some of the "plenty" in Africa - should be easy since you know that there are "plenty". And please elaborate on Philly being in financial ruins (from what I read the owner - J Bruce Llewellyn was ill and up in age and had no kids in the business and this is why he sold it and he died a few years later, which would make this explaination beleivable). Or did you make this statement about Philly to imply that African Americans cannot own these bottlers and run them well? (nice Fox News fun house mirror trick). I guess you will now tell me that all of the white owned bottlers are run extremely well with now history of problems.

      • It's no use trying to reason with that lying fool. Many have tried, none have succeeded. African Americans (which excludes some of the black American population) and Hispanics are the only minorities that matter to that bigot.
