From the P&G board, one of the chief polluters of this BB, PGPlus (formerly IFF) on his favorite stock, P&G which is getting battered today as KO bounces back strong:
<Historically, the marketPGPLUS Aug 2 1998 6:17PM EDTsold at no more than 14 P/E. AT those times Procter & Gamble sold between 16 and 24. NOW the market is selling at > 27. SO PG's P/E is fine between 32 and 48.
IT IS ALL RELATIVE to the general market.> Sounds like a bit of a double standard to me. Haven't seen him express similar sentiments here.
PGPlus, you might want to do a little comparison on KO versus P&G; historical growth rates, ROE, cash flow, etc., and then (more importantly) take a look at the growth prospects for these 2 companies over the next 10 years.
