I am not sure if the earnings were great, they were ok given the lower expectations by the analysts.
The scary part is that they only generated $11 million from box office revenue. They need box office hits to drive future growth, hence the statment "Strength in our feature film segment is the single largest driver of our positive third quarter earnings."
By "feature films" the CEO is talking about the DWA "Library" and "Prior Year Theatrical Releases." He is not talking about the Croods and Turbo, which I would consider feature films (very slimy wording).
The Library (films older than 2 years) delivered $52.2 million in revenue
Prior Year Theatrical Releases (films released in the last 1 year) delivered $42.4 million in revenue
