I did the same thing with dollar thrity. I bought 4000 shares at $2.50 and sold at $22.00.
Two years later, Hertz buys them out at $80. No one knows??
Two things to look at:
You made a ton of money. A good gain is a good gain regardless of LCC's future performance.
What is important about both companies is that their stock prices, at the lows, reflected that these companies were within several quarters of bankruptcy. The actions by the Fed and the Treasury, averted these companies from going under.
When things go right, companies generating big sales can show big profits.
