    • Brad,

Do your own homework... Don't listen to 3rd rated analysts who probably make $50K a year... The guy at has no idea what he is talking about.

Coach beats analysts estimates both on an adjusted basis and non-adjusted basis! From the official press release - "Including the contribution of these discontinued operations, earnings per share rose 42% to $0.40 as compared to $0.28 reported a year ago, ahead of analysts' expectations of $0.38."

And please don't say that you are shorting Coach because the CEO has been selling the stock of late. As I tell you many times, the CEO has been DIVERSIFYING his CONCENTRATED holding of COH since 2002. Do your homework!

Since the beginning of the year, you have been so convinced that the real estate downturn will drive consumers away from Coach and Coach is going to hit the wall in Japan. Can you please point out from the earnings release what you said has materialized?

Here is what I found from the press release on 4/24 -

"Direct-to-consumer sales increased 29% to $481 million from $374 million last year. U.S. comparable store sales for the quarter rose 20.0%, with retail stores up 15.1% and factory store sales up 26.6%."

"In Japan, sales rose 15% on a constant-currency basis, while dollar sales rose 13% reflecting the decline in the yen."

"Indirect sales on a continuing basis rose 36% to $144 million from $106 million in the same period last year. Strong U.S. wholesale shipments were the primary contributor to these results while international wholesale shipments rose significantly as well. In the United States, comparable department store POS sales rose over 30% from prior year levels in the quarter."

    • that article is garbarge and belongs in someone's obsure blog entry

    • I have read so many other articles from the fools that say the opposite of what this article says. It appears that this author might have a problem with this stock. Maybe this author is Brad's alter ego seeing as how he is saying "what I have been saying all along" to summarize Brad's post.

    • I saw the article myself. It wasn't worth reading the first time. I thought that it was a bunch of dribble so I complained to the Fool about their practice of not having a rating system for their articles. I would have given it a solid one star.
