STUMBLED ACROSS THIS ARTICLE- SEEMS VERY INTERESTING- THE QUESTION IS- DOES IT EVEN MAKE A LICK OF SENSE?
TITLED; EASY FIX FOR THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM, STOCK MARKET, AND THE INDIVIDUALS BUDGET!
What would happen is every private citizen, pulled every dollar they had in the market, ie stocks, bonds, metals, commodities, and went entirely to cash, say at a time like, 4TH OF JULY, and left the markets to only the public companies, their boards, there hedge funds etc. etc. where would the market fall too? 50-70--90% down then buy back everything they can at probably 10 cents on dollar.. Ponder that. every private citizens would now control the stock markets, we would most likely own the majority of probably all corporations and their boards, . then the government would once again: belong TO THE PEOPLE, what a shockingly interesting concept, who could ever have thought up a thing. Certainly would be a huge game changer, anyway just entertainment, besides, NO ONE would have the guts to do it, RIGHT???
Today's lesson: ****************** Never under estimate the market makers. ******************
Whoever wrote the article doesn't understand the power of market makers. Either that or they think the folks reading their ill conceived article, are fools. If you can remember a few years back, the so called "FLASH CRASH" was a demonstration of immense power as Goldman, the largest mm in the world, was being grilled by the then new administration and accused of wrong doing.
very informative and appreciated- fyi, I remember a time not long ago, where i used to place fairly tight stops after decent gains, I continually got stopped out, just to have the stock closed back up or beyond the recent close- so then I started placing the stops so low- that it seem a waste, well?
you know the rest!
Only 54% of Americans are in the stock market, and most of that is in 401k's that they may not be able to cash out of. If those who were not traders sold all their stock, it wouldn't make a lot of difference. most large caps are 70% or more owned by institutions. The market would go on, with the rich getting richer. And your private citizens putting those trillions into banks that get to invest their money while paying 0% interest would probably have the exact opposite of the stick it to the man effect you were hoping to have.
Cool, good knowledge, can you tell me the exit point then, 1650,1700,1800,1900? you seem very informed, just asking. btw, the institutions are the owners of the mutual funds, where all those 401k, and ira shares are owned, no?
