And to do it at the ongoing expense of the fixed income poor and middle class over these 5 years and counting.
I really don't know how these people at the Fed and on WS can live with themselves. I feel like I'm losing the ability to relate to educated people as people of integrity anymore.
I agree with most of what you're saying, but HOW do you make the correlation between "educated" and "integrity"?????? The people at the FED may be highly educated (most of them), but there is GREED at work here--they no longer try to hide the fact that they base monetary policy on stock and bond market movements!
Educated people in the sciences and medical profession, among other fields, are usually persons of nearly impeccable integrity--at least the ones I know and work with.
The FED works for the criminal financial institutions--they are part of the same integrated network--and yes, ALL OF THOSE INSTITUTIONS ARE CRIMINALS in case you haven't paid attention to the billions $$$ that the likes of JPM, BAC, Credit Suisse, etc. have been fined over just the past few years.
It is getting harder and harder to make that correlation these days is what I am saying - especially in the sciences with all these scientists running little more than a racket to create phony crises to scare the public simply to extract taxpayer dollars to support their research and careers. Down through history, real education has required disciple and integrity and many of Western Civilization's greatest contributors were renowned scientists.
WS has always been opportunistic but one used to be able to count on the SEC and the Fed to do the right things to keep those who would try to game the free market system in their place. Now they are a part of the problem. In fact, THE biggest part of the problem.
....c. ..if this was europe hundreds of years ago i think every government woukd have been overthrow and the likes of ben and janel and all of them woukd have been burned at the stake and left there for all to see for 100 years.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Why are lenders more important than borrowers? The low rates are nothing but a wealth transfer from lenders to borrowers. How does that matter? Fixed income guys suffer, but borrowers (most are young/middle class) benefit.
People say the dumbest things sometime. The Fed has overplayed its hand and has created an asset bubble, which will inevitably be reversed once rates go up and lead to another crisis. However, all this BS about "fixed income" is pure garbage.
The other component is that forced low rates through QE and enforced "lending standards" are causing *underinvestment* in the economy. You will find it very difficult to get a loan from a bank at a low rate as a small business owner -- hard to definitively justify a loan to eggheads afraid for their jobs when the economy is barely growing. You can go nuts as a large corporation because your borrowing rating is guaranteed!
I don't get what you're trying to say. Are you saying that fixed income people are not being squeezed by having their purchasing power stolen and transferred to stocks held by the rich?
And are you saying that it is moral to steal from one class of society to enrich another class of society by govt edict?
"People say the dumbest things sometime". It sounds like you saying a pretty dumb thing right here right now. WhTF ARE you saying?
"I feel like I'm losing the ability to relate to educated people as people of integrity anymore."
Sadly there is not that much intregrity left in the world. This board is a example of what happens when integrity leaves human interaction. The result is more amoral/immoral animals like pud, vegie and kibbles. Get used to it. It is going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.
I doubt that any of these really sick idiots here has anything going for them like a college education. They are totally unreachable by any standards of educated reasoning. But then again, I'm seeing more and more of that from extremely educated people - like at the Fed - as well. So I'm really getting to where I don't know what to think about people in general anymore.
