Her modus operandi seems to be to make the rest of us who live in other states pay for the tax and spend economic destruction taking place in California, like their high speed rail to nowhere. Of course she is backed by the mindless voting behavior of those who reside in that state. There was a piece on a gold vendors website about a guy who lived in East Germany until the wall came down, whereupon he came to the USA. He said that, even today, those that still live in the former East Germany do not realize the freedom to prosper that they have gained, and their standard of living still is far behind that of the former West Germany. He said that it will probably take another two generations for those in the eastern zone to begin to reflect the same prosperity that exists in the west.
This is not too different than those who have come to the United States from other countries, primarily Latin America and specifically to California, where the socialist governments they “fled” are not the exception, but the rule. They typically vote in socialist politicians (assuming even that their votes are legal). That explains the failed state of California that Pelosi represents, as their votes have placed Brown in the Governor’s office, as well as a host of far left leaning politicians in the legislature. Of course, when their railroad to nowhere is built, whose passenger list will primarily be those from the public sector whose passage will be paid for them, who do you suppose is going to foot the bill, in a state that is already bankrupt? If you think it will come from the higher taxes the nincompoops in that state have voted in, guess what? There will be a massive exit of more businesses from the state to other places, like Texas, and thus reduce the tax receipts even further.
Stupid is, as stupid does.
Or is it just another strategy to get the rest of the country to pay the bills via Washington? Maybe what is needed is for the remaining parts of the country to propose that California rejoin Mexico, as most Mexican-Americans are clamoring to do, judged by their voting records, and put in strict border restrictions to keep them from again infecting the rest of the country with their socialist inclinations. Fence the State in, and let them sink into the mire of drug cartel influenced corruption to gain an understanding of what they have lost. They can anoint Brown their new King, or Pelosi their Queen, or a host of other prominent politicians, such as Feinstein or Boxer. Or that joke of a Mayor in Los Angeles, Antonio Villa-Raigosa, who openly states that he supports Latino interests. Then they will learn what it was like to be East Germans.
FOR THE REST OF US, THIS WILL DRIVE THE PRICE OF GOLD INTO THE STATOSPHERE, as the country sinks into hyper inflation in its attempt to prop up the failed regime, which is California. AUY should make its investors rich as a result.

Amazing that someone who knows so little about California's tax relationship to the "other states", seems to consider themselves experts in transportation planning for the future, even conflating a Republican pork barrel boondoggle in Alaska with an attempt to modernize a part of the transportation system serving the most important economic region in the nation. That's REALLY stupid!
The fact is (Yeah, I know you don't have much use for those things) that Californians have, for all your ignorant, petty little life has PAID MORE in Federal Taxes than the state has received in Federal programs in their state. Last numbers I saw were PAID IN $1.19 for each $1.00 RECEIVED.
The only "tax destruction" in California was a CONSERVATIVE RIGHT-WING attack nearly fifty years ago upon the ability of state government to adjust revenues to meet changes in state expenditures. Another fact that you could research if you had the slightest interest in the truth, here I'll even help you, just google "Prop 13", maybe you will learn something! Although I doubt it.
Of course neither fact nor the truth "fits" your fascist propaganda, now does it! Rant on cretin.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Bog if Cali is so great then why since Reagon left the governorship has cali been going down the toilet?
More taxes are not the answer unions are not the answer and you certainly dont have a clue!
Please keep california's bs there cause we sure as hell dont want it here!
Enough is enough!
“Amazing that someone who knows so little about California's tax relationship to the "other states", seems to consider themselves experts in transportation planning for the future, even conflating a Republican pork barrel boondoggle in Alaska with an attempt to modernize a partk of the transportation system serving the most important economic region in the nation. …”
We are indeed in a peck of trouble when there are so many like you, that are busily scheming to steal from the rest of us, or are just plain clueless. There is no need for that high speed rail. Aircraft travel on the route this railroad is planned for (so far) in at least half the time. Your arguments have NO basis in fact. Further, as stated originally, which you omitted rather than address the fact, one of our number traveled during a week long business trip from Santa Clarita to downtown, LA. It was reported that nearly half the passengers, as overheard in conversations, had their fare paid by the City, which is surely also going to be the case with the high speed rail line. As typical public employees, they were vying for even more taxpayer money for their next step up the ladder, which they insisted needed to include per diem (high speed rail). That’s just for starters. Now a high speed rail, which originally was on the ballot at a price promised to be no larger than $40 billion, has grown to nearly $100 billion. Then the cost was projected to go up as much as $118 billion. California is an economic basket case that is driving businesses to other states, which is fine with us. We will open our state to them with open arms, just as have other republics opened theirs to those fleeing tyranny of one sort or another. The tyranny coming out of California, according to reports, is from the large contingent of public employee unions that use their political puppets, which it seems embraces most of the legislature and the Governor, to grab more and more from the private sector.
As has been said, figures don’t lie, but liars figure. When California complains that it is not receiving as much as it sends to Washington, California has been the open door to most of the illegal immigration from points south of its border. Those are unaccounted for costs in your statement which wend their way to Washington, DC by creating additional costs for businesses operating legitimately and create a burden on legal workers who lose jobs as a result. Of course, socialists like you see this as a way to create dependency, which it is surmised that you as a public worker/functionary benefit from.
The destruction of our money started with the great fortunes accumulated by those in the rail industry who were aptly named as “robber barons”. They also saw to it that our money became counterfeited (fiat) by their actions at Jekyll Island in 1910, as their wealth included the mega banks in addition to all of the large corporations at the time.
People like you are dangerous to our way of life.
It seems there is a great deal of fear to call one of our “representatives” stupid, but that is what is required. It does no good to “rate” a post, which it seems, in the case of this Topic, more people than not probably agree with, at least on this message board. It reflects the wimpy & cowardly attitude of the so called “conservatives”, better referred to as “Republicans” but more accurately referred to as RINOs and the timid “independents” among us.
More people need to come out of their closeted inclinations towards the freedoms that led to the country’s greatness in order to reverse the downward spiral. There are consequences for not doing so as seen by this post’s ratings of a near dead heat where only a majority of “1” currently is the case. AUY, by the way, will be the beneficiary, but then again, maybe like Pelosi, there are those among us who feel they will be the beneficiaries of the downside “slash and burn” as they accumulate what has slipped through weak hands.
Funny thing is Reagan brought Cali out of bk only for the dems to put it right back there!
Pelosi is by far the weirdest one in government I have seen!
As for dems versus repubs its a toss up!
Clinton signed nafta and brought America to its knees but the repubs have since expanded it and Obama has also!
If you want to see why we are where we are look no further than free trade!
BTW most repubs voted against nafta!Which opened the flood gates!
