    • Savant said: I know how we can finally put this topic to rest..any predictions (key word) on the earnings for EA on May 8th.

--> With the revenue from the recent releases (battlefield, Tiger, UEFA, C&C, MOH vanguard) hitting over the next few qtrs and the strong upcoming release schedule, I'm looking for accelerating growth over the next three qtrs.

Overall, I'm focused on the next 12-18 months with ERTS but with regard to this qtr I think we could see a 3-6 cent upside beat. The outlook is where I hope to see a nice bump (10-20%) in numbers. If that outlook bump doesnt materialize this qtr it should happen next qtr for sure (depending on how much sandbagging they decide to do).

With regard to the stock movement I'm looking for the following:

IMO, if we go into erns after settling down to the 49-51 range I think we could see a pop to 53-55. If we go into erns after running up to 54-56 then we could see some "sell the news" profit taking and a move into the 52-53 range (unless the outlook and #'s bump is even better than I'm expecting) . Any substantial bumps in outlook and/or corresponding positive overall mkt movements could see those stock prices pushed up by around $2.

That's my input, what's yours? Yours meaning "anyone reading this"

      Good Investing to all!!!

    • actually just google for 'turtlerules.pdf' and it will be the first link

    • not average, pure price - last trade. up to 4 equal sized trades. stopping out when the price moves twice avg volitility against them....

20 day breakout is when the current price becomes the new highest in the last 20 trading days and they would buy when that happened. They could also use the 55day instead but if they used the 20day they had to also use the 55day signal to make sure they were in the big trends. The amount they would buy would be based on the volitility of what they were buying. They would buy so that the average move for what they were buying would be 1% of their account... I will refer to the average move as N and the amount they bought as a Unit. They would stop out at two N below the purchase for 2% risk. As the price went up they would buy in up to four Units one for each 1/2 N it went up and raise the stop by the same amount. They would exit at the 10 day low for 20day signals or 20day for 55day signals. They would also not trade breakouts where the previous breakout did or would have resulted in a win.

    • >>specific rules the turtles used. I could tell you those if you are interested... 20/50 breakout with 4 step fixed fraction position sizing and volitility stops.<<

So how would you trade those specific rules?
      20/50 breakout- (I'm guessing that's moving daily avg's)
4 step fixed fraction position sizing- (4 diff sized trades?)
Volatility stops- (stopping out on volatility instead of price moves?)

I don't see what the specific parameters are. Would you like to present some specifics? Maybe a few examples of actual entry signals, sizing decisions, and stop parameter settings and reasoning?

    • the information can all be found for free and I don't recommend buying anything. I didn't. Obviously people want to make money exploiting anything they can. The problem is that a trading system is like a tailored suit... and you wouldn't want to wear someone else's suit. It won't fit right. There are plenty of free forums that discuss creating trading systems and even specific rules the turtles used. I could tell you those if you are interested... 20/50 breakout with 4 step fixed fraction position sizing and volitility stops. Like I said you can't just copy someone and expect it to work you have to develop your own and it will likely take you years.

    • The more I look through the site the more it looks like a sales pitch.

    • you act like you don't know the story:

The story of the commodity trading Turtles has become one of the most famous in trading history. Their success has stirred the interest of many new traders and helped Richard Dennis become one of the most famous commodity traders of all time.

However, like many great stories, the truth of the Turtles has been mixed with supposition, fabrication and myth over the years.

This site was created specifically to promote the truth about the Turtles, the Turtle trading system, and the real reasons for their success.

Yes, one can make money trading the Turtle Rules. However, there is much more to it than just knowing the rules. Explore the rest of this site and read the Turtle Rules to find out more.
