Last year I sold all my poorly performing Cisco and bought Garmin with it. Great play that was! Now I am tempted to sell my ELON (after this possible down turn) and putting those proceeds elsewhere. Or back at ELON when it is under $20 again. There is money to be made with this stock, but it is due for a 10 point drop over the next week, in my opinion. Without news this will be trading in the teens again. Stock has been manipulated heavily by small investors and not so much institutional investors. Reminds me of the last be runup it had in 1999 - mostly small investors then.
I am not "bashing" becuase I have been long ELON since 1998. But I have seen this manipulation in the past with ELON and do not see a credible reason for such a fast spike over two weeks. At these prices I think it is a Sell or Hold unless more news follows soon. Just my 2 cents, still have all my shares from the past 8-9 years.
Wow, if you've been holding these shares for 7 or more years, you have a lot more patience than I do. I had a significant stake back in the day that I bought around 7 or 8, rode all the way up past 100, and unfortunately, rode a lot of the way back down. I think Echelon is entering its heyday soon, but this trading has been crazy lately. I'm afraid you may be right about the coming drop. Ten points seems like a lot, but it went up a lot faster than I thought it would, so who knows? I'm afraid to sell because you never know what big announcement might be around the corner. On the other hand, it has gone up awfully fast and it's dropping quickly today...
there is no reason not to try and trade in this enviroment. Seell/ buy this stock is trading three or four points a day, tending to open a couple a points down only to recover. Sure you can sell and wait for a 10 point drop, but you can sell and get a three to four point swing and sell again.
I have had the stock since it was about $8 - out today. The market is too jittery to support the stock at this market cap. I'll also be looking to get back in at around 20 if the opportunity arises. Good luck all!
"There is money to be made with this stock, but it is due for a 10 point drop over the next week, in my opinion"
ok...he sold his shares as no one with a stake in Elon would be stupid enough to post this....
"I am not "bashing" becuase I have been long ELON since 1998"
We could care less, your out now...it's obvious.....
"Just my 2 cents, still have all my shares from the past 8-9 years. "
lol, LIAR......he's a trader/f;ipper and still has ALL his shares?
Get Lost and post your subtle bashes elsewhere...
imo you are SCION in disguize......
B22...what are you telling people that bought at $32, thinking you were smart and knowledgeable, since you trash all the longs that have been here for ten years when they try to tell you and others this run up is too far and too fast without contract news to justify....???
Whatever. If I were "out now" why would I even bother posting to a stock I had no vested interest in? I have been invested in ELON when you were probably still in your diapers. If you have nothing intelligent to add (as it appears you never do) then keep off your mommy's computer or just concentrate on adding new friends to your myspace page. As I said before, this forum is becoming 1998 Ragingbull all over again - thanks to posters like you.
Do you think there are that many small investors playing this stock, that they could drive it up 10 bucks in less than a week? That's the part that just doesn't sound right to me. I think the few small investors that bought at 20 are out by now, like Tom.
