    hey we're up a penny !

    Whatya know ! $5.36

I saw we were up 12 cents earlier, but it seemed highly unlikely that "windfall" was gonna last.

I sure wish I could take a peek at the expense accounts of management. I'd love to know what high price restaurants they go to and who they take out.

    • You must agree you are VERY bullish here ... as you can imagine, I cringed at least three times ;o) You are talking about 5X to 6X growth rates of the industry over serveral years, but at the same time I cannot even get to a 5% to 6% growth rate of ELON's LWI/Commercial business in 2011.

Anyways, what I'd really be interested in is this giant 3X pipeline growth over one year. My negative mind cannot suppress the idea that the pipeline could have been VERY small last year. It just sounds a bit overdone, yet again, like most of their press releases and (pre-)announcements. Hope it's not the nose of someone at Echelon that grew at the same rate as the pipeline ...

How do they measure their pipeline, in $$$, # of contracts, # of devices ... does anyone know?

    • I won't say what you are because I'm sure your parents did the best job that they could.

    • So you buy from the Chinese but won't buy American made goods. John, you are a turd.

    • I shop at WalMart, and I would shop there if the prices were no cheaper than the competition, because I will never buy anything that is made by unions if I can avoid it. This is coming from someone who has had up close and personal experience with unions since the age of 16. I won't get on the soapbox, I will just say that I have so much respect for the upper management at Walmart for keeping the unions out of their company.

    • I agree that America is to Stupid to run a Government run health care system.Otherwise they would suceed in doing it and reap the savings. And the citizenry would not be a bouch of crouchity people like we consist of today.Pathetic.Only the Mexican illegals seem happy.

It is hard to find anything that isn't made in China. But that wasn't the article's theme. What about the 535 self-serving morons who have got us into the financial mess we are in now? They are no where as successful at running anything except their mouth.

    • Wal-Mart sucks. It buys a majority of its products from China and refuses to pay its workers a livable wage. The world would be a better place without. What ever happened to American made and what happened to the days that if you worked for a company for 20-30 years you could retire with dignity and a reasonable amount of comfort?

      Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

      1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart. Every hour of every day.

      2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

      3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

      4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger+ Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5.. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer, and most speak English.

      6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

      7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

      8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy..

      9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

      10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

      11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12.. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature,

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

a... The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.
      >> You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

    • Excuse me....nothing personal but I am not feeling well about this pathetic seen here.......P.....uke.I must go clean up the mess.

    • It's interesting that Sege's 3X pipeline growth over 1 year corroborates with the lower end of some of the analysts predictions for growth that we have been reading. In following with Echelon's business ethos, he is probably being conservative and the actual growth rate for this industry is 5X or 6X over the next several years. It surely is an enviable position that Echelon has as the premier supplier of hardware/software for the building of the Smart Grid/IOT. Many countries around the world have shown their support for the LonWorks Platform to use as their growth strategy for the next decade or more as they build out this network. Certainly these growth rates and demonstrated market success don't warrant a p/s < 1.
