Here's an old consultant's report on the Implementation of the smart grid (at the time) of Europe. Notice how often Echelon is mentioned. It's funny how they weren't mentioned in Italy. The point is Echelon has been years ahead for a long time. While it hasn't helped us longs up until now I am convinced that the foundation laid in the past will pay dividends in Brazil, China, and hopefully Russia. I also believe streetlights will begin being a more significant revenue stream.
According to the translation of this link on 2-20-2012 Energoauditkontrol announced that they have "passed the test operation in the accounting system of electricity in Perm" and successfully installed nearly 10,000 meters. http://www.ackye.ru/news/news_detailed.php?ID=328
The silence is deafening. Are we really supposed to believe that Russia is still running their pilot program? There is no SEC rule that says a company has to notify shareholders about contracts that they DON'T get. I'm starting to think they didn't get the Russia deal, and they prefer to just let it sort of go away like they did with their pilots in Australia that they didn't win.
