There are 3 areas you need to always be watching in the market. Cable companies, telecom companies, and cell/mobile markets. These are not going anywhere.
A year ago, I loved the Telecom space, and decided to buy $S and $CLWR after much debate (Went with the lower cost of the group, not $VZ or $T). I first bought $CLWR @1.62 it dropped to something like $0.80 where I had purchased more. My point being, my thesis was strongly focusing on the valuable spectrum $CLWR owned, and that it was a package deal with their relationship from $S. I figured if one started pumping so would the other, I was correct. In that space, $LEAP and $NVTL still have potential....
So in terms of Cable companies, CVC was a purchase strictly on being bought out. Like $CLWR I knew that they either needed to sell spectrum (bc they were massively in debt) or merge with either $S or another carrier. Same thing here. Its a matter of "When" NOT "if". I purchased $CVC @13.92 last week and was very happy to see the buyout rumors which again confirmed my thesis. Same thing happened with $CLWR.
Also if you want another takeover target, $OCZ in time will triple from its $1.80 price today. $AMPE also has a few drugs in the pipeline that will skyrocket it frm $4.33 to $10 as well as other speculative plays such as $MEDL, $INO, $CYCC, $ONCS
