The word is on the street that some of the utilities (electric) are on the hunt for smaller units to augement their positions. They want immediate payers and see some economies in consiol=olif=dation of managements and sale of excess capacity.
Our sweet little EDE fits the bill. it would likely mean a loss of dividend income although immediate capital gains.
With inflation poised for a real burst in terms of energy costs this would make some sense as the capital value of fixed assets would rise and the likely earnings along with them. Who knows how the regulators would see a writing up of assets but it has been done before and then there is the reversal of the PUHCA. that seems in the cards for these Republicans.
Ouch!! for the consumers-- but it could happpen.
Be well and we will see. I dumped a mess of this back at 24.30+ Stillhold some though. But will sell if I can for the yield will look pretty puny in a yar or so whith what seems to be going on.
