Does anyone really know how much the dividend (cash/shares) and how it affected the stock price for the ADR. Closed Friday@$9.70 Open Monday@$8.93
I know based on brokerage statements and TSMC's website that:
1ADR=5 ordinary shares.
cash div.=$2NT (Taiwan$)/ordinary share.
stock div.=$0.5NT=5% per ordinary share.
Yet I can't figure how the stock moved from $9.70 to $8.83 and more importantly how do you handle the tax events on this distribution.

Taiwan taxes the stock dividend and also the cash dividend. Taxing the stock dividend makes no sense to me and one of the disadvantages of being a shareholder during the dividend period. If you are a US taxpayer, foreign taxes witheld can be recovered by filing form 1116 with your 1040.
The price drop must reflect both the stock div and the cash div. Both of these divs hit your brokerage accoung at a later date, reducing your equity, not good.
Moron doesn't like people to call him moron repeatly. LOL!
I wish when a moron calls me "bishop" then the people won't call him moron. Sorry I don't have such power.
I wish you good luck and the best, because you really need it, LOL!
I stress the US meaning of Woo. Do you know what the definition of crazy is? Repeating the same thing over and over but expecting different results. Do you expect someone to listen to you? Do you expect belief in the bul***. Anyway, good luck, I wish you the best, you need it. LOL
