Grocers are going after their share of the rebates. Some are offering 10% bonuses for converting rebates into gift cards. Grocery stocks and food could do well in Q2.
But are people going to buy MORE food?

Most rebates are going to end up in OPEC coffers. That's pretty straightforward knowledge and even Charles Schumer said the same thing. I bought more STKL with mine.
I suspect less cutting back and trading down for a while anyway. I read the Hain's transcript, the UNFI transcript and looked at some Supervalue stuff. They are pretty confident about doing well despite the downturn.
