Rio Tinto recently discussed its Canadian operations. Four alternatives were put on the table. 1. Continue current operations. 2. Slow down current operations. 3. Find new partners. 4. Cancel projects. I believe any of the last three might be beneficial to CLF. Canada is in Cliffs backyard. Perhaps Rio would invite CLF in as a new partner. If the terms were favorable to CLF, it could be a good move.
Thats the thing most are not taking note of only about 30% of the expansion projects announced 3 years ago will actually come on line, many have been cancelled or slowed globally which is bullish for prices as supply becomes more and more unable to handle demand
