    • On a side note, Arbitrage is only being shown in one local theater, an "Art House", near me. The 20 & 21 screen theaters near me aren't showing it. I'm not expecting big numbers unless the movie is re-released after possible Oscar nomination(s).

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

      • The movie may do $2 million per weekend, without losing any boxoffice for many weeks. Then there is the boxoffice during the week. The great news for LGF is it costs much less to release the movie to a much smaller number of theaters. The movie cost LGF for a 50% share, $1.25 million. The other costs were also small and shared. I think breakeven will occur in weekend 3 for Arbitrage.

The other issue is that LGF's current quarter earnings will be huge, so why not move Arbitrage's earnings into the next quarter and take its cost this quarter. Don't underestimate the smarts of LGF management. There's a reason for everything. I think Dredd was released late this quarter to take a cost for that movie this quarter. Next quarter will also be huge with Breaking Dawn. The Hunger Games DVD/Bluray release this quarter will surpass $200 million. This will generate about $80 million to LGF. Then we have other DVD's generating income this quarter. So why not throw the kitchen-sink of costs into this quarter and still generate large earnings.

Remember, The Possession earnings are already here and generating large amounts of dollars each week. Millions of dollars. Then Tyler Perry was a huge success. During this quarter Hunger Games in theaters generated more millions.
