TV Guide released a list on Tuesday of fall 2012 television shows that are dangerously close to being canceled before the end of the year. The cancellation of some of these shows could prompt mid-year replacements or a change in network schedules altogether...
...Also, proving that good reviews don't always translate to higher ratings, ABC's Nashville, starring Connie Britton (American Horror Story, Friday Night Lights) and Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) has been experiencing vanishing viewers. Although the show has had an uptick in DVR viewership, its real time ratings dropped almost 30% for its second episode. The show will have to find some loyal viewers for this country music drama series to continue. Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
On WEDNESDAY Oct 17, which was the 2nd episode of Nashville, SF was playing St. Louis baseball. Therefore a fall in attendance on Live TV was expected. As I recall, the 3rd episode held even with the 2nd. Also as I recall Nashville was the winner in that time slot for all three episodes. But I could be wrong. But if it was the winner, I don't think ABC would dump it mid-season.
The fall back for LGF could be selling Nashville to a cable TV channel.
