To drive home your point, look at IMDB. It has a 7.4 out of 10 with 1066 reviewers. When you drill down to the demographics section you see that males give it a 5.6 and females give it 8.6. Males age 30-44 give it 4.8. So when you take the critics reviews with these demographics in consideration, it is no wonder the ratings are bad so far.
Precisely....and every review that I have seen so far is from a reviewer that kissed their teenage years goodbye a long time ago...let's wait to see what actual teenagers (the target demographic for the movie) have to say once they start seeing the movie!
You dont have to wait to see what the movie target group has to say in a review. Go to you tube and type in divergent movie reviews. There are a good 30 reviews who have seen the flick in the last two weeks. All are 18 to 30 years old mostly college with a couple maybe in their 30s. Almost all girls except for about 5 guys. Every single one and I mean every single one love this flick with a score above 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. I think one guy gives it like a 7. Some of the girls would give it a 20 if they could. They are giiddy about the actors and the story. Most read the book and say it does the book justice. Most say its better than the Twilights and the Hunger Games but many liked Catching Fire more but not all of them. I am not kidding or pumping just go and see for yourselves. They all want to see it again especially the hard to please fans who went to early previews. The people on you tube who just review movies suggest others see it. If these were RT reviews we would have 100% fresh with more reviews than RT has now. Now I know many are fans and read the book but they are the hardest to please in many ways. They would trash the movie if it ticked them off. Now they read the book so maybe they understand the material better but even those who did not enjoyed the flick but did not have the backround material to relate as much.
