Lionsgate Exec moves to Pantelion partnership

I think this is good news that one of LGF's own is full time at Pantelion to forge growth in LGF/Pantelion partnership
The new director of production and development will develop comedies and family films for the joint venture between Lionsgate and Grupo Televisia.

TORONTO – Former Lionsgate exec Auri Maruri has joined Pantelion Films as director of production and development.

Maruri, who worked in the office of Rob Friedman at the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, will work with Pantelion CEO Paul Presburger and president of production Ben Odell to develop comedies and family films.
Pantelion is a joint venture between Lionsgate and Latin media giant Grupo Televisia.
Maruri's new duties at Pantelion include developing co-production projects with Lionsgate.
Recent credits at Pantelion include Instructions Not Included, the highest-grossing Spanish-language film released in the U.S. market

This is starting to become a joke. What's next, is Lionsgate going to open offices in Mexico? They're acting like the Eric Cartman of South Park. Do they not realize that people are people and simply want to see good movies with good stories? Here they go again trying to capitalize on a specific demographic they think will bring them profits. Te days of making black films for black filmgoers, Latin films for Latin filmgoers, Asian films for Asian film makers are over!!! This is starting to all become like one big joke. Trying oh so hard to capitalize on greed of what they think will work. Just make good movies with justifiable budgets to make money for the long term. I am getting SO fed up with this nonsense. Between their out of whack business strategy it's no wonder we're under a short attack. To this day, ALL races love ANY GOOD MOVIE. This makes Liomsgate seems racist and desperate and will be yet another strategy that backfires. Of they keep up this nonsense we will be in the teens VERY soon and I will be broke. What is happening to the film industry???? And Lionsgate should be setting an example as a leader, not making a joke of themselves because that's what they're starting to do with nonsense deals like this.

      • Rinse and repeat...the strategy you so abhor is why I am here. LGF exploits niche markets that are underserved by the Majors. In doing so, LGF has become the biggest Independent Major and they are fresh, flexible and nimble to deliver the goods to everyone that wants to consume content, especially forging in Global territories if you haven't been paying attention. And if you also haven't heard...Content is King. That is why real investors are here, because LGF has proven that they have build a library of 15000 movies over 15 years and they are now the go to studio that all leading actors/actresses what to be a part of.

If you don't believe that than your motive is different. If I was as disappointed as you, I would cut my losses and find some other board that has a business with management that you endorse. Invest there and spare us your lacking assessments of LGF. It is so clear that you are not a real investor here IMO. But I guess we all have jobs and hopefully you are getting paid well to spew things on a board for a stock that you are not personally vesting in.

      • LGF is setting the example. How many other independent movie houses have a smash YA franchise?
