killing king coal - when will that help natural gas prices?
clearly, it would insulate the price of gas from gas to coal switching as prices of gas rise. it's pretty much the declared agenda of the obama admin. you'd think this would have a big impact of gas supply.
Around 60GW of coal power is set to retire by 2016. That equates to 6bcfd of NG. Mexico exports to rise by 2bcfd. LNG exports approved so far of 3.6bcfd. Transportation, Gas to Liquids, Industrial use another 2bcfd or more.
Well over 10bcfd of new supply needed in the next few years. The price of NG is definitely going higher.
I cannot believe that they would cast theri lot with the NG industry for 75% of power generation. People will be crying when their utility bill doubles in 5 years. NG at 10 sounds about right by 2018. I got ANR and ACI, and I am not good with Obama's Plan. Three more years and we will have Hillary.
