We already know Q4 earning are good from the pre-earning announcement. And…
You can best believe they withheld some positive news to report during their earning call on the 18th. I wouldn't be surprised if the revenue numbers comes in above the high end of those pre-announced. Look for a very positive outlook forecast as well. There's no guessing if the earnings will be good...it's just a question of how good? Makes no sense to short or sell ahead of earning when you already know the results are good…whether you are an individual or firm/institution investor
I don't think the earnings will show anything new. What I do expect is a positive outlook/projection for the first time ever. You will recall a lot of "growing" "proof is in the pudding" "growing pains from jumptag purchase" in the past. I HOPE for the first time ever MM says we are going to "x amount and grow those earnings y amount."
Good comments. Just another point to make though - we often see new CEO's "kitchen sink" the first quarter on their watch, in order to set new expectations that they can start beating. It would not be too shocking to see the new guy do that this or next quarter.
