I suspect analysts at GS wanted in. What better way than to bash a stock for what appears to be a good reason, jumping back in after every jittery trader runs to the door.
You've got to admit, the stock rebounded nicely. It is an indication of strong buying activity. It does not matter who is buying. What matters is that there is a line of buyers and not many sellers. I do not see that sector turning around and suddenly seeing the price of oil drop even 10%
SOLF LDK CSIQ are all long picks and prepare for bumpy rides along the way. Good stocks are typically volatile as the market prices adjust to the correct value and games are played by those with a lot of money and power at the table.
The trick is to know where the bottom is and a stock begins to retrace the to the real value. I think the activity on Friday is a strong indication of a buy in opportunity.
