There will never be a divident date.
There is no such thing as a divident.
I suggest if you seriously wish a legitimate answer to your questions, you pay attention to the responses on your thread, pointing out that it's DIVIDEND, not divident.
However if your goal is to minimize your credibility, then carry on. You're doing a great job.
Mostly because you're a trading pissant who knows nothing about the underlying company and you use free yahoo because you're poor. The declared dividend is 70 cents a share, 70 cents/current price is 2.7%. AZN pays two divis, the larger one coming in Feb which was 1.71 last time...which is about 2.5 the current divi making up for the other %
On July 29, 2010 the Board declared a first "interim" dividend of 70 cents (it's ex div today August 4th) payabele September 13, 2010. The 70 cent amount was chosen to be abour one-third of the total of $2.30 paid for the entire year of 2009.
The second "interim" dividend will be much larger obviously after the year-end results. In 2009 the second dividend was $1.71.
AZN pays a semi-annual dividend. It should be clear that you can't multiply either dividend by two to get the annual rate. Since first half results were so good (they doubled the share repurchase plan raising it to $2 Billion), it would be logical to assume the full year dividend for 2010 will exceed last year's $2.30 payout.
