Construction of Mount Milligan is now 96% complete. Thompson Creek Metals is reporting that commissioning of the copper/gold mine is expected to happen in August with full commercial production this year. Spokesperson Jocelyn Fraser says they are currently doing what is called 'operational readiness.'
"So what we're doing is working to complete the final items," says Fraser, "we did start the crusher earlier this year, so we're moving to getting the plant commissioned, the getting commercial production in place."
Fraser says they are still in the hiring phase for Mount Milligan. She says they are looking to the communities of Mackenzie and Fort St. James to hire as many local people as possible.
There are just keeping the local folks, their neighbors, informed re: progress. And, are also looking for a few more local hires. A bit of local goodwill.
Don't be so bent to read conspiracy theories into everything.
You'll a lot more in just over 4 wks.
My question is why does this still hover @ 3.00 when MM is 96% done. Copper prices actually went up .10 yesterday We have some shorts that need to cover, some hedges funds that need to buy and some institutions that need to take some positions.
