    TC's Molybdenum Pile

Does anyone know if that pile of molybdenum is large enough to last until the conference call or will they mothball the Thompson Creek mine causing bad earnings this time around.

    • I live 4 miles from the gate of the mine.I see the white bags of ore shipped out every day .I have heard that there have been layoffs RIght now I don't see any drop inthe trucks coming out of the mine.

    • is this a serious question?

They had approx. 10mm lbs. of finished moly product on hand as of 3/31/2013, and stockpiled ore (mostly from the TC property) to produce another 5mm lbs. more.

If they sold 15mm lbs over the next three weeks, that would be fantastic, but he odds are 1 in a trillion that would occur.

They won't decide to put TC on care & maintenance until probably middle of next year. Right now, they are squirreling cash, and want to get MM running before they start horsing around getting the Phase 8 mining plan and permits (and EIS they need) approved. It's this last point that is the most pertinent, as they'll have plenty of cash next year to start the stripping. So this whole business isn't about money. The question is whether they will be able to proceed, given their complicated mine plan for Phase 8 and the need to swap land with the BLM (which requires an EIS). Bureaucracy is the enemy of economic progress.
