By when do longs expect the company to announce news? Also, is profitability in 2014 a realistic target? Or is this a ploy to raise stock price and avoid de-listing. Do note pls. that I'm not bashing. I simply haven't seen any reasonable discussion that addresses the cynical perspective on this stock.
So first on this board we have some very exhuberant longs, I must admit I fall here, and some shorts that got caught and a few people that point out the negative for no discernible reason. So there is limited objective informaion to be had here. With all that said here are my thoughts around your question, I expect news to come late next week (Friday maybe) or right after Christmas, PLUG will regain compliace and that will give it another lift on Wed or Thur of next week so any news before that serves no real purpose. The announcement itself will determine profitability in 2014, if it truly is a 40 Million dollar contract they will be able to be profitable, anything less than that and Mr. Marsh will have to push his profitibility to late 2014 or early 2015. Given the history I do not think Mr. Marsh can over promise and under deliver again, not and maintain his position, therefore the contracts he alluded to should be solid and come in at the figures he suggested.
I think that's a very fair response. For the record, I'm long on PLUG, but with a fairly tight stop. I do hope that the CEO set the bar fairly low -- an earnings surprise would be a very good thing. Given the track record of the company, the CEO's pumping didn't terribly impress me. But all told, here's hoping for a profitable future.
