I still cannot figure out how a workers compensation carrier that does a little payroll management on the side (and that is what Barrett is) is able to write business at half the insurance industry's pricing and get better results. They should be also selling their services to the insurance industry and they could make even more money.
I'm in the insurance biz, and when you are self-insured you don't have to charge filed/regulated rates; Eventually when the claims pile up you have to pay them. As long as the company is growing 25-40% you stay ahead of the claims. Ask yourself, How long can this go on?
