    VP of Sales – Pharmaceutical Company

    Location Bridgewater NJ area

    Our client is a publicly traded late stage Biopharmaceutical Company with products focused on improving cardiovascular health.

    They are currently seeking a VP of Sales
    Overview of the position:
    Responsible for delivering business results through the leadership and management of U.S. sales efforts for the cardiovascular portfolio, including building an effective field sales organization suitable for the launch of a new drug and cost-effective achievement of prescription and revenue targets in the competitive multi-billion dollar lipid-lowering marketplace.
    This new position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and is a senior member of the US Commercial Team.
    Responsibilities of the position:

    •Help define the culture, structure and future direction of the Amarin field sales force.

    •Build a high performance sales management team, including experienced Regional Sales Directors and District Managers.

    •Source, interview, hire, orient and train sales representatives.

    •Strategically #$%$ and identify critical analytics information, including identification of information required to ensure achievement of prescription targets, securing such information, analyzing such information and using such information effectively.

    •Develop an incentive compensation plan that will motivate the sales force to reach corporate objectives.

    •Create a compliant environment which challenges, motivates and develops team members to reach optimum performance and potential.

    •Set clear objectives, coach/mentor, and #$%$ performance and skill level to develop future leaders within the sales organization.

    •Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders on a regional and national level.

    •Provide strategic customer insights along with Marketing and Managed Care in the development of the CV franchise.

    •Develop strategies and tactics in collaboration with Marketing and Managed Care to provide optimal financial return within the sales organization.

    •Develop National and Regional budget allocations and ensure that Sales Teams take a disciplined approach to investment.

    •Work closely with Managed Markets team on targeted pull through strategies to ensure maximum ROI on Managed Care contracts.

    •Managing costs to achieve effectively leveraged results.
    Basic Qualifications:
    •Minimum of BA / #$%$ Degree required.

    •Minimum of 15 years Pharmaceutical Sales and/or Marketing experience with at least 4 years at the Sales Director level or higher, leading a sales team of at least 400 sales reps, with national sales responsibilities preferred.

    •Cardiovascular sales management experience strongly preferred.

    •Documented success in pharmaceutical leadership with a proven track record of delivering exceptional sales results required.

    •Willingness to travel extensively as needed to complete the responsibilities of the position. It will be necessary for the VP of Sales candidate to be on-site in the NJ office for regularly scheduled management meetings. However, much of the time it is anticipated that the ideal candidate will be in the field.

    •Must be a highly ethical, energetic, driven, proactive and dynamic leader.

    •Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, communication and leadership skills required.

    •Must be fun loving person who enjoys work and who is willing to work long hours.
    Additional Preferred Qualifications:

    Built sales organizations from the ground-up including identification, recruiting and hiring of managers and sales representatives.
    Worked with a Contract Sales Organization to leverage infrastructure needed to assemble and manage a large sales force and associated support functions.

    Experience working both in large companies and in emerging growth companies
