So let me get this straight

    ASEI's scanner is not approved.

Half of the $245M contract has been spent

ASEI has no idea when or if their scanner will be approved

LLL was just awarded the same contract, of which half has already been spent

    ASEI's CEO just Resigned

The government agency that needs to approve this is the TSA

The TSA is widely regarded as the most incompetent agency of the government, and that's REALLY saying something

ASEI's scanner doesn't need to be operated by people, so this product would put TSA union "brothers" and "sisters" out of work

And ASEI has been totally unable to articulate what this contract means to them, why their product hasn't been approved for 2 years, or how much of the remaining contract they can get while competing with 2 superior companies?

    Lots of questions, NO ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sentiment: Strong Sell

    • half the contract has not been spent - it's a new contract - read it
half the screening lanes are equipped with other scanners under the AIT contract
why did TSA solicit for AIT-2? because AIT is not satisfactory
nobody at AS&E is suggesting that it will get the entire thing - and it's not needed - it's all incremental since there was no TSA contract in the past. and the threat detection is automated but nobody loses a job - somebody still has to be there to pat-down if the alarm goes off

be open minded - no more half-truths please
