I have owned WSTL for years and have been
disappointed. WSTL in large part has not moved due to one main
reason: ADSL has not moved. How many ISPs have offered

WSTL is not the only player in the arena today. But it
is fact that Bell Atlantic is promoting WSTL modems.
Their recent anouncement indicated this.

screwed up in their anouncement.
If Bell Atlantic sticks with WSTL, then the shares
of WSTL may
rise to 15 or $20. Of course, Bell
may choose other vendors as well but it is fact that
at the moment the solution they are selling is a
WSTL one. Of course, the market is a risk,
could fail. But the probability that they will go
is more than the opposite.
I would like to
believe that I am just smarter than WALL Street
got in earlier this time. To play it safe, I invest
of the competitors. I own ATHM, AOL, CSCO,
LU, WSTL, PAIR.
I would have bought some shares of
AWRE too but I did not
have them on my radar

If G.Lite becomes

ho9wever, LU doesnt really care about selling
modems...they want to sell the high priced CO equipment. thats
where we will likely have some problems. if WSTL
solidifies an alliance with ALA things will be better. my
opinion of today is that ALA wants out of the modem
business, and with efficient and WSTL they can.
this was a really good deal for ALA. its good for WSTL
too, but in other ways that arent so great. they now
have a dependable chipset vendor, something they have
always lacked. but if things shape up the way i think
they will, WSTL is gonna lose CO equipment business
which is going to make margins razor thin.
luck to all,
It will be great if BT can put WSTL
at the end of 200k lines!
There is a lot of
questions on why ORTCF and AWRE went up and WSTL "has only
doubled from 4"! The fact of the mater is there is more
than enough for most players. Just 1% of the domestic
mkt is over 1 million modems! WSTL seems to be making
the right alliances. The trick is to penetrate and
penetrate before the likes of LU, COMS and CSCO got more
established in the xDSL mkt.
The company is WESTELL.
