    • So please enlighten us with your information about the "big and scary" competitor you mention.

      Who made your modem ???

      • I had to check up on this hoax myself. Go
        to
        http://www.bellatlantic.com/infospeed

Over there, if you fill out the request information,
except for the credit card, you can check which modems
the company ships out. The WESTELL EXTERNAL IS STILL
        THE DEFAULT modem.

I wanted to make sure, so
I called up Verizon, and the customer rep. who
picked up said sure you can get the westell.

They've also got the usb, and some PCI based modem, but
it does look like WESTELL is by far the most oft
used modem, only now, they are shipping to a larger
customer base with the combined companies.

        Also, if
you go to http://www.dslreports.com, you will see
under the Bellatlantic discussion that just about
everybody talks about the Westell modem because that's
probably what most of the people are getting.

        We
will probably be making new highs here after one more
        quarter, so sit tight people.

        Also, if you are
interested in fiber, there's a small company called AINN,
which looks very promising. Do the DD yourself, it is
probably getting close to end of consolidation for another
run-up. The price-to-anything ratios make it pretty much
        a value play.

        Good luck.

      • Probably Alcatel ?
