I have had this fund MANY years. Its value now is more than double what I paid for it, but I have had to pay taxes on the dividends which are re-invested. My initial cost, plus many years of taxes that i have paid, is more than the value now. . Had I invested the same amount in EE Bonds at the same time, the value would be more than double the present value. Of course I would hve to pay taxes on the interest, but I would still be ahead
what are EE bonds? My broker suggested to me to buy this fund back in Nov '06. It went up some and tanked. I bought some more shares back in April '11 when It was going down--when JP morgan stated they lost 2 billion. So now I'm just waiting for it to reach my break even point. And getting the heck out of this fund.
Well it's almost been a year since your post and this fund is still stinking it up, more so than the rest. You wouldn't think it would by the superior attitude of the phone reps. Had a few questions for them this year and it seemed like it was beneath them to be talking to me. Time to dump this fund(a holdover from my "full service" broker days).
